Highlights of Teaching - Math:Variety of trigonometry functions and Unit circle
Throughout the 2nd quarter of 2nd semester (Unit 7, Algebra 2 course), 10th grade students were introduced to a variety of trigonometry functions and Unit circle.Seeing that most students have problem with trigonometry and how the trigonometric rations are extended to all real numbers, Math department decide to use this project as a way to help students to better understand trigonometric rations and become familiar and understand unit circle in a fun and creative way.
Students need to use any method/medium they choose to design a unit circle. It must include the degree, radians, sine and cosine values for 0°, 30°, 45°, 60° and 90° and their corresponding angles in the remaining quadrants. They may draw, color, paint, build, use construction paper, cut, paste, write, stencil, etc… In other words, use their creative ability.
