The main goal of this activity is to enable students to make a presentation on the theme of their favorite trip. Throughout this process, they will utilize the vocabulary and grammar they have learned. This activity comprises three main parts: vocabulary and grammar review, preparation, and presentation.

Vocabulary and Grammar Review

Rich vocabulary and accurate use of tenses form the foundation of the presentation. Initially, I will facilitate students in reviewing an extensive vocabulary related to travel, transportation, climate, location, food, etc., and guide them in applying their knowledge to depict their travel experiences. Since these experiences typically occurred in the past, precise grammar becomes essential. Students must use the past tense to recount their travel adventures, the present tense to convey current sentiments, and conditional sentences to express future aspirations. Throughout this process, I will utilize my own experiences as an example to illustrate to students what constitutes an unforgettable travel experience.

Preparation

After receiving the task, students initially select the journey they wish to recount, then commence gathering pertinent information, such as travel photos, maps, and cuisine. Moreover, they are required to seek out and peruse tourist guides, as well as historical and cultural background materials pertaining to the destination to enhance their presentation comprehensiveness. Students may structure the display content chronologically, thematically, or by geographical location, and the final presentation format can be various, encompassing options such as PPT, video, or images. Additionally, students must practice their speeches extensively to ensure that they can express their ideas fluently during class. Throughout this process, teacher should engage in attentive observation and listening, promptly correcting any inaccuracies in pronunciation or grammatical constructs.

Presentation

In the last class, each student prepared a 6-8 minute Spanish presentation, covering aspects such as the purpose of the trip, their observations, experiences, and insights gained. Following each speech, there will be a 3-minute session for comments and questions from both students and teacher. This Spanish class serves as an opportunity for students to not only review their vocabulary and grammar knowledge but also to apply it in real-life scenarios, thereby enhancing their oral expression and cross-cultural communication skills.
