Science

The Science Department of SWWY is composed of 9 members, seven subject teachers and a full-time lab assistant, they are from Azerbaijan, Philippines and China.The Science department offers foundation Science courses such as Biology (Grade 10), Chemistry (Grade 10/11), Physics (Grade10/12), and scientific elective courses (all Grades).

Biology focuses on ecology, evolution, genetics, and biochemistry of the cell. And Chemistry serves as a thorough introduction of the structure of matter. While Physics covers topics such as Newtonian mechanics, work, energy, and power. Lastly, Science elective courses prepare students for the exploration on the possible solutions to real-world problems by using scientific methods.All science courses are lab-based, and students are encouraged to do research and projects to improve their scientific skills. As a department, we hope to inspire the students to develop critical thinking ability and reasoning skills through project-based learning mode (PBL) .
