Exploring U.S. Campuses, Embarking on a Journey of Knowledge | SWWY ID’s U.S. Study Tour （Part I）

From Jan 12 to 26, 22 students and 2 teachers from SWWY ID visited the U.S. for a study tour, including a week at sister school Broadwater Academy and visits to top East Coast universities.

At Broadwater, students fully engaged in immersive, interactive classes, experiencing the openness and collaboration of American education. They also attended exciting home basketball games, joining in the school spirit and connecting with local peers.

A highlight was the visit to the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. Guided by Dr. Richard Snyder, students explored oyster research, learned about the challenges of marine science, and practiced scientific observation through microscopes—discovering marine microorganisms firsthand. Dr. Snyder’s English lecture enhanced their listening and subject-specific vocabulary.

The tour concluded with a warm graduation ceremony at Broadwater, where each student received a certificate. This journey not only broadened students’ academic and cultural horizons but also inspired them with a spirit of curiosity, collaboration, and scientific exploration—lessons they will carry into future learning and life.
