Fusing Science and Humanities, Embracing the New Semester | Opening Ceremony of the Second Semester

On the morning of February 17, SWWY held its 2024 spring semester opening ceremony. Hosted by students XU Lunda, YANG Zi'an, and the school’s digital figure “SWWY AI,” the event centered on the theme “Fusing Science and Humanities, Educating for the Future.”

Students from the East Campus shared highlights from their visit to the Shallow Sea Exploration exhibition, while the North Campus reflected on their “Role Models of Parents in Aerospace” project, inspired by interviews with parents in the aviation industry. Students from Junior division’s science and innovation program presented hands-on learning experiences, and the International Program highlighted student-led research tackling real-world issues. Senior high students showcased interdisciplinary projects blending technological innovation with humanistic care.

Guest speakers included Mr. ZHANG Wenjun from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Dr. LIU Shen from the Sixth People’s Hospital. Both emphasized the importance of scientific spirit, innovation, and applying knowledge to serve society.

As the ceremony closed, a shared vision for the new semester emerged: to pursue excellence, embrace curiosity, and move forward with purpose.
