A Cultural Visit to Guiyang: A Dialogue Between Technology and Civilization

From June 26th to 28th, SWWYID students and faculty on the Guiyang route embarked on a cultural walking activity themed "Technological Exploration and Cultural Heritage."
They visited the China Sky Eye scenic area and Luoweng Buyi Village, experiencing the convergence of technology and humanity to feel the strength of China, while deepening their sense of national identity through the interplay of tradition and modernity.
Upon entering the China Sky Eye scenic area, SWWYID students and faculty began their journey of exploration with an attitude of "looking up at the stars." At the Nan Rendong Memorial Hall, a series of photographs and physical artifacts vividly recounted the legendary life of Nan Rendong, the "Father of the Sky Eye." In the telescope-making workshop, they assembled lenses and adjusted focal lengths with their own hands, while at the loom, they tried their hand at shuttle weaving.
Prior to the trip, teachers established research groups and assigned project tasks based on textbook knowledge. During the journey, SWWYID students deepened their understanding of the Sky Eye project and Buyi culture through guided explanations and interactive experiences. After returning, students created videos to document their insights, using practical summaries to crystallize their reflections.
