2025 SWWYID Social Activity: Yunnan Route on Coffee Tea and Dancing Culture

Students from International Division of Southwest Weiyu Secondary School participated in a multidisciplinary study tour to Yunnan, learning the local coffee/tea and dancing culture in June 2025.
In Pu'er, they had an experience of viewing the entire coffee production procedure, from planting seedlings at the Manya Coffee Estate to studying processing at a factory and museum. At the Manya Coffee Estate, students observed and practiced planting coffee seeds, feeling how life thrives in the nature. In the coffee factory, students learned the science and the procedures, absorbing the traditions with innovative manners delivered by modern technologies. Students also tasted different coffee productions, enhancing the outcome of their learnings.
The trip also included exploring Jingmai Mountain’s ancient tea forests and engaging with Lahu ethnic traditions through "Swing Dance". Students immersed themselves in these cultural activities while learning how to appreciate local traditions and distinct cultures that require conservation, especially how rural economy and culture should be revitalized.
These activities were designed to connect students with rural vitalization efforts and cultural inheritance, helping them learn the importance of protecting culture and empowering innovation in the modern society.
