2025 SWWYID Lecture on “Individual Safety in Overseas Life”
On 14th October, Expert Wang Xuejun, invited by the International Division of Southwest Weiyu Secondary School, conducted an empirical safety knowledge lecture for SWWYID students who are preparing to head overseas for university life.
The lecture provided practical guidance on avoiding common pitfalls like fraud and theft, while also emphasizing "invisible thresholds" like cultural differences—specifically how common gestures like the "OK" sign or "thumbs up" can be offensive in other countries.
The lecture hall was filled with joy and laughter as Mr. Wang applied a humorous but honest manner in delivering the messages on the importance of looking out for safety when living abroad. Students also practiced physical skills, such as self-defense formations for stampede avoidance.
