A Cultural Visit to Dunhuang and Zhangye

On June 22, 2025, SWWYID students and faculty embarked on a one-week cultural trip to Dunhuang and Zhangye, two great cities in Gansu Province.
During their stay in Dunhuang, a core hub and cultural stronghold on the ancient Silk Road, SWWYID students had the opportunity to appreciate the gorgeous Dunhuang Murals and also handcrafted murals by themselves in Mogaoli Artisan Village, a cultural block that showcases Dunhuang's traditional craftsmanship.
While visiting the Zhangye Danxia National Geopark, SWWYID students got to enjoy the strikingly beautiful scenery. On day seven of the trip, the students visited the Gansu Provincial Museum to have a deeper understanding about the local culture.
By immersing themselves in the local culture, SWWYID students had a deeper understanding of the tolerance, diversity as well as resilience of the culture of Dunhuang, where east met the west.
