Shining Brighter Together: The 2024 Second Semester Commendation Assembly

In September 2025, students in SWWYID gathered at the West Campus auditorium for a grand assembly to celebrate the achievements of the previous semester. It was a morning dedicated to honoring the hard work, talent, and heart of our students. The awards recognized excellence across six categories, including academic competitions, active event participation, "Triple-A" students, student leadership, and boarding life, culminating in the presentation of prestigious scholarships. From the classroom to the dormitory, these awards reflected the diverse ways our students shine.

Student representative Henry Zhou from Class 11A shared a moving speech, encouraging peers to see every challenge as a step toward growth. Director Helen Huang then delivered a powerful message from Principal Chen, urging students to live by three values: "Aiming Higher, Choosing Kindness, and Embracing Innovation." He reminded everyone that while trophies may fade, the character built during the struggle is a treasure for life. 

This assembly was more than just a prize-giving ceremony; it was a moment of collective pride. As the "red house" community looks toward the future, we hope every student continues to be both a "light chaser" and a "light source," turning these honors into the fuel for their next great adventure.
