Highlights of Teaching - Super Launcher Project
This project aims to improve students' creative thinking skills by requiring them to work effectively in teams of up to three students on a task that has limitations in terms of dimensions.
In this project, the teacher assumes the role of a renowned leading toy company that is in search of the optimal design for a super launcher toy, intended for children aged 7 and above. Students participate in a bidding process for this project, with the aim of winning the coveted Best Super Launcher Award. In addition to the design aspect, students are required to incorporate the principles of physics into the development of their launchers.
After building their own launcher, students will need to execute a series of procedures to measure the projectile motion in real life. The experiment will involve determining the launch velocity and spring constant of the super launcher, followed by data analysis. After the experiment, a shooting game will be held to test the launcher's function.
Students will have the opportunity to present their design concepts and final results to the audience, showcasing their hard work and creativity throughout the project. It’s also a good platform for students to demonstrate their learning and gain valuable feedback from their peers and teachers.
