Cultural Fusion | A Recap of the China-U.S. Cultural Exchange Activity at SWWYID
To meet the new talent cultivation demands of globalization, the SWWYID partnered with Eastside College Preparatory School in the U.S. for a unique cultural exchange.
Launched online in January, the event involved 23 students and 11 families, bridging geographical gaps through diverse online and offline activities.Eastside College Preparatory School, located in Kirkland, Washington, ranks among the top schools in the Seattle area, with alumni attending prestigious universities.In late June, Southwest Weiyu students eagerly welcomed their American friends. Ms. Hu Shuangle, the Director of External Relations, extended a warm welcome, and students showcased their talents through music and performances, fostering friendship.
Students experienced the traditional art of tie-dyeing, creating beautiful pieces while sharing their admiration for Chinese craftsmanship. Southwest Weiyu students also invited American students into their homes, offering an immersive experience of Chinese daily life—making dumplings, touring the Bund, and participating in tea ceremonies.
As the event concluded, a farewell party was held, attended by Principal Chen Yong and participating families. American student representatives presented a Year of the Dragon print symbolizing friendship. The exchange deepened understanding and respect, inspiring students to actively engage in cultural activities and promote international cooperation.
