A special art exhibition at the China Art Museum

On May 20, 2024, a group of 20 students and teachers from the International Division of Shanghai Southwest Weiyu Middle School attended a special art exhibition at the China Art Museum. The exhibition featured masterpieces from famous Chinese artists Lin Fengmian and Wu Guanzhong, who both studied in France and contributed significantly to the combination of traditional Chinese ink painting and Western oil painting techniques. Guided by expert tour guides, the participants explored over 200 original works, gaining a deeper understanding of the artistic evolution and personal resilience of these two cultural giants. The event not only enriched students’ appreciation of Chinese art but also connected their learning with real-world experiences, emphasizing the importance of cross-cultural dialogue in art education.
