Highlights of Teaching - AP Calculus BC:Integral Modeling
AP Calculus BC students utilized what they had learned in an engaging modeling activity. Their task was to select an object of personal interest, then calculate the cross-sectional area via integration tools, and construct the mathematical representation of the chosen object.
With creativity and imagination, the students meticulously crafted their masterpieces using various tools such as paper cards, paintbrushes, and glue. After that, they employed mathematical software to simulate the functional formula, and subsequently presented each calculation step within their work.
This project enabled the AP Calculus BC students to apply theoretical knowledge in practice. The whole process not only provides them with an opportunity to establish a connection between mathematics and the real world, but also allows them to appreciate the beauty of life.
