Parent Role Models 2023

On the afternoon of March 21st, we invited Yangyang, the mother of class 11C student Rex, also Director and Chief anchor of Shanghai Jiaotong Broadcasting and Shanghai Story Broadcasting to our school and she candidly shared with the teachers and students her stories of joy and hardship in her growth, life, and work. Her friendly and relaxed words conveyed a sense of confidence, elegance, and sincerity, deeply attracting the everyone present.

At the age of 20, Yangyang developed a passion for broadcasting. Despite not having a background in broadcasting, she always persisted in pursuing her dreams with determination, hard work, and optimism. Since the 1990s, she has been a radio host. Today, as an excellent and well-known host, she demands excellence in her programs. Her sincere dedication has made her a sound dreamer in the air. She said, "Bravely pursue dreams, bravely make mistakes, and learn in your own way. Each of us is the irreplaceable protagonist in our own life."

Yangyang’s life story is so inspiring that it casts a light on many of the students at SWWY. During her speech, she even warmly welcomed the students to have a visit to her workplace if they were interested. Rex’s family is also a good example of the school’s emphasis on the co-education between the school and the family. We hope all the students will persevere with their own dreams bravely.
