The 6th China International Import Expo Volunteer - Owen Zhao

In November 2024, the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) recruited, for the very first time, eight students in high school international division with exceptional school performances to be volunteers on site. Owen Zhao, from Class 11C of Shanghai Southwest Weiyu Middle School International Division, was one of them. Outstanding as he has been in school, Owen also devoted his energy in this grand event, in which he closely observed and appreciated great technologically innovative achievements, fully experienced cross-cultural communications, and gained a deep understanding of what it means to volunteer in building up cultural connections across the communities through voluntary work on the Expo service team. For young generations like Owen, this experience proved more than meaningful to showcase what young generations in Shanghai city can be and how far can they travel in realizing their designs of personal growth, allowing students such as Owen to take one step further in understanding social responsibilities, team spirit, and the reasoning behind national achievements that drive the society forward.
