City walk in Shanghai
On November 18th, teachers and students from Shanghai Southwest Weiyu Middle School International Division explored on a vivid journey the origins and innovative developments of radio at Shanghai Radio Museum where over 500 documents and cultural relics are carefully preserved. Students were able to immerse themselves in the simulations of radio operators’ working routines, learn how the national anthem was recorded, made into vinyl, and spread across the whole country. Through lively presentations of those related historical moments, all participants were taken back in time, to that age of passion and duty-oriented devotion which our people have long yearned. The vinyl culture since made a great impact in students’ understanding of modern craftsmanship, infusing them with the charm of radio and sound, and also the sense of belonging and gratefulness to our community that nurtured generations of people who strive for progress.
