Exploring Science and Business: This spring, student leaders Students Visit ATLATL Innovation Center
This year, student leaders from SWWY ID embarked on a hands-on learning journey to the ATLATL Innovation Center, diving into three interactive modules: CRISPR Gene Editing, Synkron Lab Exploration, and Hammurabi Trading Simulation.
In the gene lab, students donned lab coats and practiced pipetting under the guidance of Teacher Deng. They conducted gel electrophoresis and observed clear CRISPR results under UV light, gaining both skills and fascination for life sciences.
Next, dressed in bright yellow protective suits, students toured the high-tech Synkron Labs. Teacher Zheng introduced biosafety levels (BSL1–4), and students viewed real BSL-2 labs through observation windows, deepening their respect for scientific research.
In the final business challenge, students role-played investors in a simulated trading game. Using custom cards and real-time market updates, they analyzed trends and made strategic decisions. Teacher Yang concluded the session by connecting the activity to real-world economic events like the subprime crisis.
This innovative field trip fostered scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and global awareness—empowering students to connect knowledge with real-world challenges and boldly pursue their dreams.
