From Gamers to Game Makers: A New Perspective on Gaming

Can gaming be more than just a distraction? In December 2025, Lilith Games brought its “Morning Star” public education program to SWWYID. As a leading Chinese game developer, it offered students a fresh perspective on the gaming world.

The session began with Mr. Qingsong, the guest speaker, sharing his journey in the gaming industry: from personal gaming experiences to behind-the-scenes stories at major e-sports events. Students quickly discovered that games offer more than entertainment: they provide a sense of achievement, spark creativity, and foster teamwork.

Addressing concerns about gaming addiction, Mr. Qingsong offered practical strategies. He encouraged students to recognize the emotional needs games fulfill and to seek balance through outdoor activities, sports, and family time. He also suggested applying game design principles, which are goals, rules, and feedback, to academic and social challenges, turning potential obstacles into stepping stones.

The session concluded with a career exploration of the gaming industry, covering roles in programming, game design, and art. “Follow your interests, build your skills, collaborate, and stay curious,” Mr. Qingsong advised.
