A Spring Invitation: SWWYID Spring Open Day
On April 3, SWWYID welcomed families to its Spring Open Day, celebrating home–school collaboration in a warm, vibrant atmosphere.
Parents explored student exhibits across campus—from PBL projects and college admissions showcases to class displays—gaining deeper insight into their children’s growth. Throughout the day, they were invited into diverse classrooms: ESL, ELA, science, social studies, national curriculum, electives, and arts.
In ESL, Helen’s engaging review of TOEFL sentence structures helped students sharpen core skills. ELA students created “found poetry” under Harvey’s guidance. Ivan used trigonometric graphs in math to introduce periodic functions, Ethan explored crude oil refinement in chemistry, and Brenda led AP Psychology students in analytical discussions to prepare for exams.
After classes, parents met with teachers and college counselors. In the afternoon seminar, Head of Guidance Lynn shared that 31% of 2025 graduates earned early admission to dream schools, with ~50% admitted to U.S./Global Top 30s.
From classroom visits to lunch in the student canteen, the day offered a holistic experience—building trust, deepening understanding, and strengthening the partnership between home and school.
