At SWWYID, physics extends far beyond formulas on a whiteboard. Through project-based learning, students transform abstract theories into tangible creations, developing critical thinking and collaboration skills along the way.

In the “Super Launcher” project, students apply projectile motion principles to design and build launching devices. But the challenge doesn’t stop at engineering; teams also craft business pitches and present their products in a simulated bidding competition. “It turned equations into something real,” shared one student. “I finally see how physics connects to everyday life.”

The “Jumping Toy” experiment uses simple spring toys to explore elastic potential energy and mechanical energy conservation. Armed with just smartphones and rulers, students design their own experiments and collect data, proving that meaningful scientific inquiry doesn’t require expensive equipment.

In the “Flying Bird” project, students build devices to investigate circular motion and centripetal force. Working in teams, they solve flight stability and trajectory issues while learning to average multiple measurements for accuracy.

These hands-on projects show that physics is not just theory, but a gateway to understanding the world and solving real problems.
